Introduction :
Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of NIKKA whiskey, believed that Yoichi’s environmental conditions were similar to those in Scotland, so he built Yoichi Distillery in 1934. The buildings of Yoichi Distillery are recognized as tangible cultural properties by the state. Since its establishment, it has been using the charcoal-fired distillation method. The wine is characterized by its strong style and smoky flavor. It is a regular Scotch whisky born in Japan.
